MMWEC owns one fossil-fuel fired generating unit – the Stony Brook Power Plant in Ludlow, MA. Stony Brook burns natural gas and oil to produce electricity.
The Stony Brook Energy Center’s two, 8.4-million gallon oil tanks frame the Stony Brook power plant. The plant also is served by an MMWEC-owned natural gas pipeline.
